"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you." James 1:27 (NLT)

Hello! Thank you to everyone for your continued prayers and support. Dennis and I returned from our trip to Leshuta in July, and we have a lot to share with everyone. But first, we have

to share some devastating news about one of our staff members.

EVALINE MAKOOI: Evaline Makooi is the wife of our assistant director, John, and is an integral part of the House of Love as the house matron. Evaline was taken to the hospital in Nairobi at the end of August with signs of anemia. The doctors struggled to figure out what was wrong. Peter just sent us the heartbreaking news that Evaline had died. Her and John have five children, and this was such a shock. We are heartbroken for John and his family, the staff at HOL, and for the girls. The ministry paid the funeral expenses and will continue to support John and the kids. Please pray for them. Evaline’s home is now in heaven which is why Jesus came to earth as a baby – so that someday we will all have the joy of eternal life with Him.

DIRECTOR’S PARSONAGE: The Director’s parsonage is coming along well and is almost complete. Peter and his family should be able to move in by the end of the year.

HOUSE OF LOVE: The girls were so happy to see us. We gave each of them gift bags with

toiletries, undergarments, school supplies, candy, pajamas, and more. We met with the staff to find out what their needs were. At the top of the list was a modern kitchen. At present our cook, Daniel, uses a one-burner stove that is powered by fire. Daniel has to feed all the girls and the staff three times a day with one burner. It is time consuming to cook different dishes one pot at a time and to gather and cut the wood. More importantly, the ventilation is poor which makes it dangerous to cook around the girls due to the possibility of smoke inhalation. What the staff asked for was a stove with four burners so Daniel can cook all the dishes at the same time. In addition, they would like the new stove to be powered by biofuel which is clean burning. The new kitchen would also include adequate ventilation. Once the kitchen is complete, the girls will be able to take turns preparing a meal so they learn cooking skills, and so they share in the household duties as a family member rather than a resident. The JMM Board of Directors met in August and felt the modern kitchen was an important need. The total cost of the kitchen and the biofuel system is $15,000. If you are able to help with this cost, please mark your donation so we can put it toward this important need.

Wishing you the warm and wonderful blessings of Christmas,

Jana McCray Warrington
