About Us

Mission & History

Founded in 1985, the Jan McCray Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit organization that works with widows, orphans, and vulnerable children in the rural villages of Naikarra and Leshuta in Kenya, Africa.

Over the past 35 years, JMM has: 

  • Sponsored more than 400 students through high school

 

  • Purchased motorbikes for pastors who walked long distances to their churches

 

  • Sponsored widows and their children by providing water filters, goats, cows, medicine, homes, money for food and living expenses, and more

 

  • Built a community house which is used for Christian missionaries and guests and for widow training

 

  • Purchased a vehicle for Reaching the Unreached so the pastors could show the "Jesus" movie to the unsaved

 

  • Rescued young girls from circumcision and forced marriages

 

  • Built an airstrip in Naikarra so serious patients may be quickly transported to a county hospital

 

  • Helped build two African Gospel churches

 

  • Supported disabled students through their medical procedures and technical training 

 

  • Built a well in Naikarra for both people and domestic animals which serves more than 2,000 people

 

  • Evangelized more than 4,000 students in kindergarten and primary schools

 

  • Built an orphanage in Leshuta called House of Love which houses up to 36 girls
